F4 Algol Silver Thyme was bred to a
Sorrel queen, Titian Sparkle, and from this
two Usual Silvers carrying Sorrel were born,
a female, Algol Silver Betsa, and a male
Algol Rose Cavalier (who has no known
descendants).
F5 Algol Silver Betsa was owned by
Carmen Bachelier of Giselle Abyssinians
who was a key player in the development
of Silvers from the end of the 1970s
through the 1980s and 1990s.*
Bred with Ballard Ranolf a Usual, (aka Randolph & other versions) bred and owned by Mrs Rosalie Knowles, Algol
Silver Betsa produced Giselle Sekmet
Shibu a Usual Silver female in 1977.

F6 Giselle Sekmet Shibu’s descendants
are found in many Abyssinian lines,
including Betic and Bellapais. She
produced Sorrel Silver male F7 Giselle
Padishah Shaddam and Usual Silver male F7 Giselle Silver Simnel, both of whom
sired kittens at other catteries.
Another prolific offspring was F7 Giselle
Silver Asama, a Usual Silver queen who
stayed at the Giselle cattery. Silver
Asama’s sire was a Fawn, Barentu Castor,
so she carried both Sorrel and dilute.
* Many thanks are due to Carmen Bachelier for her untiring
support with researching Silver lines and giving context and
depth to it. |
