F5 When Adonesh Hot Chocolate was
bred to Caroline Macaulay’s Annera
Halloween, a Sorrel, a litter was
born on 29 January 1986 that included
Simkyn Cantilena, another Chocolate
female. Owned by Kathleen Hiscox, she
then went to Carmen Bachelier (Giselle)
and on to Freda Upton (Uptomalian).
Cantilena was exhibited at the South
Western Counties Show 1986. This is why
we call Chocolate a ‘rare’ colour, not ‘new’ –
they have been around for over 20 years!
F6 The Red Series line met a Chocolate
Series line when Abysomal Ambrose, the
Cream Abyssinian descended from Wendele Whip Poor Whil (see sex-linked
Red history), |
|
was bred with Simkyn Cantilena to produce
F6 Uptomalian Ceilidh, a Tortie Abyssinian
that could have carried Chocolate.
F7 Uptomalian Ceilidh was then bred
with Uptomalian Baileys, the Cream Silver
stud and on 29 May 1992 she produced
F7 Vestisler Ceilidh, Blue Tortie Silver
who carried Chocolate, the foundation
queen for the Pinegrove cats in the UK.
Vestisler Ceilidh had the distinction of
being the first cat to bring together all
three of the rare colours – Chocolate
Series, Red Series and Silver Series.
